About the Foundation
Our Goal
Create, provide, promote and subsidize opportunities that will develop the abilities of promising young string performers of the National Capital Region up to the age of 18.
What We Do
We are a charitable organization dedicated to nurturing promising young string players, as selected by their teachers, in the National Capital Region. All professionals agree that starting a well rounded music education at a young age is key to optimizing skill development and musical mastery.
The Young String Performers Foundation is committed to assisting these talented young musicians by:
- Creating opportunities for performance experience through recitals, concerts, solo performances and chamber music in the National Capital Region
- Organizing string master classes in the National Capital Region given by internationally recognized artists
- Providing bursaries to enable participation in additional activities, such as master classes, music camps and other special educational opportunities
- Providing additional subsidies to students financially unable to afford any miscellaneous participant fees
- Maintaining an Instrument Bank of professional-quality instruments that are available for loan to participating students
- Fundraising to subsidize these activities (concerts, donations, grants, etc.)
